Over the last few weeks we shipped two major pieces for studios that deliver often and work as a team: client selection on galleries and collaborators with permissions. We also tightened the mobile proofing experience and the controls you need when a round must start fresh.
Here is the practical summary — plus links to deeper guides.
1. Client selection (Pro+)
New gallery type: Client selection (draft).
- Upload photos and videos
- Generate a private link so the client marks favorites and leaves notes
- The gallery stays off the public project until you review and publish
- You get an email when the client submits
- In the dashboard you filter, download a ZIP of selected media, and optionally delete the rest
It is the proofing flow many studios asked for without leaving Ftens. Full guide: Client photo selection.
Recent improvements in the same flow
After the base launch we iterated on production pain points:
- Better mobile UX and more stable media loading during selection
- The lightbox stays open when adding a note (less friction on phones)
- View page to preview the link before you send it
- Reset selection with typed confirmation: clears marks and notes, invalidates the old link, and issues a new one
2. Collaborators and team
You no longer need to share your account for someone to upload or review.
- Email invites from Team or the project
- Scope to an entire project or a single gallery
- Permissions by group (project, gallery/media, sales) plus presets
- Seat control (pending invites count)
- Shared projects shown separately in the dashboard

3. Related product context
Alongside team and selection, delivery and brand keep improving:
- Photographer portfolio, directory, and custom domain (see Ftens 1.0.2)
- More efficient public asset delivery (CDN) and on-demand ZIP exports
- Portfolio tweaks: customizable projects heading and preserved bio line breaks
Try it this week
- Selection: create a new gallery → choose selection mode → upload media → generate the link → open it with “View page”.
- Team (if you are on enterprise and already enabled): go to Team → invite with a test gallery scope → accept from email. If you do not have it yet, contact Ftens.
- Close the loop: when the client submits, review filters, download the ZIP, and publish.
